How much is expired medicine costing your clinic?

Expired stock rarely shows up as a line item anywhere. It leaves as a handful of strips dropped in a bin, a few times a month. Put your own numbers in and see what it adds up to over a year.

Estimated loss per year
₹18,000
Per month
₹1,500
Over 3 years
₹54,000

This is an estimate based on the numbers you entered, not a measurement of your clinic. The default 3% is an illustrative figure — if you know your real expiry rate, use it.

Why it happens

Almost no clinic loses medicine because nobody cares. It happens because expiry dates live in three places at once — on the strip, in a register, and in somebody's memory — and none of them raise a hand when a date is approaching.

The medicines that expire are usually the ones you stock for a reason: slower-moving items kept for the occasional patient who needs them. They sit at the back, they don't come up in daily use, and by the time anyone looks, the date has passed.

What actually reduces it

Doing this without a register

RoboSensy keeps an expiry date against every medicine in your inventory and sorts your stock by what expires first, so the list you look at is already in the order that matters. Stock also decreases automatically when you bill a medicine, so what the system shows is what's actually on the shelf.
